High Export Potential of the New Product of the Company RETIA

On 6th of March 2012 company RETIA introduced the result of the defense research project at the military airport in Pardubice. It is a working model of modernized anti-aircraft missile complex 2K12 KUB. This modernization was handled in cooperation with the international concern MBDA. The MBDA contributed to the system with the missiles and necessary electronics. Along with the control and guidance system SURN (also modernized by RETIA) it "shot down" two attacking fighters L-159 Alca in fake fight in the presence of the representatives of the Czech Army, five other armies of Europe and other distinguished guests. The existing missile complex of former Soviet production has been used in our country for decades as well as in many countries around the world. The demonstrated solution offers not only a prolongation (extension) of the systems, but also a higher efficiency, reliability and significantly better technical parameters. After a live shooting test in Sardinia the system will be ready for inclusion into the Czech Army inventory as well as for the export. According to the DSIA President Mr. Jiri Hynek it may become an interesting export commodity to many countries around the world thanks to its high performance and the need to modernize the systems in other countries. Member of the Defense Committee of the Parliament Vaclav Horacek appreciated the great expertise involved in the research project. He promised along with the MP of Pardubice constituency Mr. Jiri Skalicky that even within a limited budget of MoD they will try to support the introduction of this unique system of air defense in the Czech air defense.
